Using the case method in dance composition creation for secondary professional education students

Annotation

The article reveals the prerequisites for introducing the case method into the system of secondary vocational education in the field of choreography. The evolution of the method from demonstrative-reproductive learning to research-based learning is shown. The purpose of this article. Demonstration of potential of the case study method as an effective tool for developing analytical, creative, and pedagogical thinking among dance students. Methodology and methods. The study is based on the analysis of domestic and foreign scientific sources, observation of the educational process, pedagogical modeling, and a comparative analysis of methodological approaches in choreographic education. The main results of the study. The structure of the case study has been determined, the functions and pedagogical principles of the method have been highlighted, and it has been shown that the use of case technology contributes to the development of students’ independence, communication, professional speech, and reflective thinking. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the case method is presented as a systemic pedagogical technology for teaching dance composition, which combines artistic and research thinking. The criteria for evaluating case studies are formulated, and the mechanisms for integrating the method into the curricula of art colleges are described. Practical significance. The results of the study can be used in the methodological work of choreographers, in the development of educational programs, and in the formation of individual learning trajectories in the field of art.
